It has been a wet summer so in a way I am glad we did not
plan a vacation. If we did, this is the week
we would have gone and it has been a wet, cool week. No vacation this summer since the man has
been planning to build a pole barn for his treasured John Deere. I can’t argue with his reasoning. After purchasing
the big green tractor and various attachments, it is best to build a structure
to protect them from the elements.
John drew plans months ago and has spent hours reviewing and
revising the plan and getting material quotes. I think it was a good idea there was a delay since he changed the barn location in the field. He is a smart man. He made plans with my cousin to work with him for a week to get the “bones”
on the barn up. Materials were delivered
and the week arrived. The weather has varied - first day was humid, second day
there was a downpour, today is cool, windy and started wet.
The first day I did not go over since I was told just the
holes had been dug. The John Deere is earning its’ keep. It got a great workout Monday. Yesterday I wanted to go over since the poles
were set (something to see). John and I went over but I forgot the camera. Before dessert, Elliott and I went over with camera
in hand.
Day two in pictures….
As seen from the driveway
Front view: Left side will be large doorway and right will be normal doorway.
I know John enjoys working with my cousin and I believe that
feeling is mutual. They definitely make one heck of a work team.
Although they are working hard, they are treated right.
Olivia has been (with some help from her brother), making and delivering
lunches to them. Catered by a beauty
with a smile on an orange lawn tractor! Does it get any better than that?
