Another pair

I finished knitting the pair of socks that I planned to be for me but I was mistaken. Olivia wears the pair I knitted for her to bed. A week ago, I saw the socks and her feet. They were too small for her fast-growing feet. I mean, the heel was in the middle of her foot and the cuff, well that had become the new heel. So last night, I finished my pair and handed them over to her while asking her to throw the old pair away. They were ruined since she had worn them by stretching them onto her feet, making them fit. Sometimes I wonder…what is she thinking?

So I am knitting and finishing projects – that is a good thing. I don’t like having half-started, unfinished projects lying around. I’ll confess, I have a few. Off the top of my head, I have a cream colored square that I finished but the team that I was on (all of us were to knit so many swatches then they’d be assembled into a blanket) quit. They didn’t measure their gauge and the swatches were either too small or too big. Mine was correct so I decided to set it aside and I’d go back and just knit. It would make a nice scarf. That unfinished project sits on the shelf in my closet. Then there is the blue scarf that I started for Olivia, it sits in on the dresser in the guest room. I have the first sock that I started knitting for John but the pattern is not correct, that can be found in a bag in the closet – tucked away, far in back. I think that is it for my knitting projects. I won’t tell you about the crocheted afghan I should be working on or the huge cross-stitch that I need to work on before the chart fades more and I won’t be able to finish it.

Well, here they are – a perfect fit and a happy gal!
